Zarn Tree Farm

service

Planting
Survey stakes are provided to allow the customer to mark the location of each tree to be planted. This also gives a visual representation of the final planting. Once the location of each tree is determined the utility companies can readily check the site for underground hazards. All the underground utilities need to be marked before the digging can proceed. Consideration should also be given to privately owned buried lines such as water, sewer, electrical, or drainage.

The holes are dug with a tree spade mounted on a 6 foot wide Bobcat. The hole plug can be used for backfill or if loam is provided, the plug can be removed from the planting site. Digging and planting usually occurs on the same day.

Delivery
Deliveries are made with a 5 ton truck (20 trees) or semi tractor trailer which can carry up to 60 trees.

Farm Gate Sales
Colorado Blue Spruce can be picked up at the farm in April, May, September and October. The Swedish Columnar Aspen are available in early April.
